Strategic Partnership Between Resolute Mining Limited and Nimba Mining Company to Evaluate Gold Opportunities in Guinea
March 30, 2026 – Resolute Mining Limited (“Resolute”) (ASX/LSE: RSG) and Nimba Mining Company S.A. (“NMC”) – a 100% Guinean state-owned company – are pleased to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) concerning the joint development of potential gold projects in Guinea.
With the involvement of the Guinean Government, represented by the Ministry of Mines and Geology, this partnership represents an important step forward in advancing exploration and mining development activities within one of West Africa’s most promising gold regions.
This MoU represents NMC’s first collaboration with an international publicly listed company in the gold sector. The partnership will focus on the joint evaluation of mineral resources, the implementation of comprehensive geological studies, and the development of strategic frameworks for potential large-scale gold production operations. Both companies have extensive expertise across the mining value chain, from exploration through to production.
This announcement highlights Resolute and NMC’s commitment to developing Guinea’s gold sector in a responsible and sustainable manner. The partnership is expected to generate significant opportunities for local and regional stakeholders.
Patrice L'Huillier, Managing Director of NMC, said:
“This partnership with Resolute will enable NMC to launch its gold projects in accordance with the State’s guidelines set out in the Simandou 2040 Programme and the vision of the Ministry of Mines and Geology, as the technical supervisory authority of NMC. Choosing the option of co-developing mining projects with Resolute will strengthen the share of local content within Guinea’s mining ecosystem.”
Chris Eger, Managing Director of Resolute, said:
“We are delighted to have been selected by NMC and the Guinean Government to co-develop gold projects in Guinea. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to investing in Guinea – a country that we believe has strong potential for the development of a fourth mine for Resolute – and to sharing value with all stakeholders through sustainable projects. Our teams remain fully engaged in evaluating high-potential areas of interest, in collaboration with NMC’s teams and with the support of the Ministry of Mines and Geology.”
Summary of the Memorandum of Understanding
The MoU forms part of NMC’s diversification strategy, supported by the Guinean Government, to develop projects beyond the bauxite sector, in accordance with the Vision and Programme Simandou 2040.
The MoU is non-binding, and any contemplated transaction remains subject to technical evaluation, negotiation and execution of legally binding agreements, as well as obtaining all applicable regulatory approvals.
The parties have agreed that their respective technical teams will conduct a preliminary assessment of the identified mining areas within 90 days following the signing of the MoU.
The parties have also agreed in principle to jointly develop the projects through a joint venture to be established.
