NMC and IBS Sign Historic Partnership for the Development of the Tinguilinta Mine
Tinguilinta, January 29, 2026 – Nimba Mining Company S.A. (NMC) and IBS Group have officially signed a major mining subcontracting agreement for the development and operation of the Tinguilinta bauxite mine.
This partnership, initially established for a period of five years, covers a minimum volume of 32 million tonnes of bauxite and encompasses all drilling, extraction, overburden removal, transportation and crushing operations.
A 100% Guinean Partnership Serving Economic Sovereignty
This alliance between two fully Guinean companies marks a decisive step in the local content policy promoted by the authorities of the Republic of Guinea.

A Strategic Contract Supporting the Simandou 2040 Vision
This partnership fully aligns with the Simandou 2040 Programme, Guinea’s 15-year roadmap for sustainable socio-economic development. The ambitious programme provides for $200 billion in investments structured around five strategic pillars: infrastructure, economy, agriculture, education and health.
The government has established a mandatory local content plan to ensure Guinean participation throughout every value chain, with priority given to employment opportunities and business opportunities for companies with Guinean capital.
Outlook and Job Creation
Under this agreement, NMC and IBS plan to recruit several hundred additional employees in the Boké region. The ramp-up of operations is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the economic development of local communities.
NMC is also continuing its studies for the construction of an alumina refinery with an initial planned capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per year, a decisive step toward the full integration of Guinea’s bauxite value chain.
