Nimba Mining Company Closes 2025 with 1,002,400 Tonnes of Bauxite Shipped
Kamsar, January 5, 2025 – Nimba Mining Company S.A. (NMC) shipped 1,002,400 tonnes of bauxite during 2025, less than five months after the start of its operational activities.
Founded in August 2025, Nimba Mining Company is a fully Guinean mining company established with the objective of contributing to the national development of mining resources and the country's industrial development.
A Look Back at the Main Operational Milestones of 2025
In 2025, Nimba Mining Company successively reached several major milestones, reflecting the rapid expansion of its activities:
- November 5, 2025: departure of the first vessel from the port of Kamsar, carrying a cargo of 200,000 tonnes of bauxite;
- December 13, 2025: commissioning of the first mining train connecting the mine to the port;
- December 20, 2025: official launch of mining operations on Plateau 26 of Tinguilinta.
All these activities enabled the company to reach a total volume of more than 1,002,400 tonnes shipped before the end of 2025, with no incidents recorded.
This achievement was made possible through the mobilization of more than 450 employees, including mining, railway and port teams, as well as technical, engineering, human resources, finance and logistics functions.
2026 Outlook
For 2026, Nimba Mining Company plans to:
- achieve an annual production target of 10 million tonnes;
- launch feasibility studies for an alumina refinery;
- carry out exploration activities north of the mining license.
